News: The Year of Luigi, featuring Luigi’s Mansion 2, Mario & Luigi 4, and Luigi-themed NSMBU DLC

new_super_luigi_uFollowing Mario’s starring role in an assortment of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U titles last year, 2013 marks the year of Luigi – which is kickstarted next month by the release of Luigi’s Mansion 2.

Hot on the ghost game’s heels, Camelot is developing Mario Golf: World Tour, which will heavily feature the green sibling; whilst a fourth game in the Mario & Luigi handheld RPG series - Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - will also release this summer.

And perhaps most interestingly, Nintendo is also working on “large scale downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U” – entitled New Super Luigi U - which will see the green plumber take a starring role in a re-skinned update to the Wii U launch title.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this is the American line-up, so don’t be confused when some titles release a little earlier or later than is slated in this list over here in Europe. It’s also worth noting that Pokémon Conquest still hasn’t been confirmed for a European release, Rhythm Thief released over here a few months back, and Heroes of Ruin has been delayed in America.

All in all, though, not a bad line-up for the 3DS this year, with the exception of Ubisoft’s Petz and Imagine games after its phenomal support for the Wii U thus far.
